Charlemagne Nursery School

 About us...

The Charlemagne Nursery School is operated by the Ottawa Catholic Child Care Corporation which has a seven-member board made up of parents, community members and School Board Representatives. We are a non-denominational, not-for-profit community based program.

The main objective of the Charlemagne Nursery School is to ensure a positive learning environment for children through the provision of pre-planned activities and the establishment of learning centres.

The program enhances the development of children by offering age appropriate materials and learning opportunities and encourages children to develop a positive self-image.  The unique needs and abilities of all children are respected and considered in the development of all program plans.

Licensing

The nursery school is licensed under The Day Nurseries Act of The Ministry of Community and Social Services and The Ministry of Children and Youth Services of Ontario.  It is required to meet all regulations of this act as well as Health and Fire Regulations dictated by the City of Ottawa, the Ontario Fire Marshall and the Ottawa Catholic Child Care Corporation. Our license is displayed at the centre.

   Drop in Guidelines

Our primary objective is to provide a caring, relaxed environment where parents, providers and their children (birth to age six) can participate in a variety of activities.  Parents and caregivers interact with the children in their care while also enjoying the company of other adults.  Staff members provide support and resources.

Attendance

The drop-in operates on a first come, first served basis.  “Full” signs will be posted when room capacity has been reached. Childcare provider mornings offer adults who care for other people’s children a chance to meet and share ideas and concerns. Parents and childcare providers are asked to limit attendance to two visits per week.
